Cleaning kitchen cabinets:

Your kitchen is the place that needs tremendous amount of care and attention. You cook your food in this area of your house. Thus, it is essential that you keep this place neat and clean ultimately.

Here are some tips to take care of your kitchen and keep it neat and tidy.
For all cabinets types the best way to clean the cabinets is to use a soft clean cloth or the back of a sponge with dish soap and water. Rinse immediately with a clean cloth and dry with a clean soft cloth. Keep cabinet surfaces dry and free from standing liquids.
In cleaning stainless steel cabinets you can also use a stainless steel cleaner. Follow the directions that accompany the cleaner.
As for cleaning natural wood or natural veneer you have to wring and twist the cloth very well to squeeze out excess water. Avoid hard rubbing on the surface or continuous rubbing in the same area. You can also eventually use furniture polish or furniture spray.
For all cabinets you MUST AVOID the use of abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, sandpaper or steel wool. As well as the use of acids, solvents, alkaline or ammonia-based cleaners these will permanently damage the surface and appearance.

Kitchen counters and ways of cleaning:

There is nothing called a perfect counter top, but there is a counter top perfect for you based on your needs and demands.
Please note that a cutting board is something essential with any counter top not just to avoid scratches with certain types of counters but for hygienic reasons as well.

Stainless Steel is one of our counter tops that we are specialized in manufacturing.
The advantages of this counter are:-

  • Seamless
  • Resists staining
  • Never fades or rusts
  • Water proof
  • Can be one part with the sink
  • Very hygienic
  • Can withstand heavy use

While the drawbacks are:-

  • Shows finger prints
  • Can get Scratched

With Stainless steel counters AVOID the use of bleach, any cleaners containing chlorine, acidic cleaners, ammonia based cleaners, or abrasive cleaners.

Another counter top that is common to the local market is Granite:
The advantages of this counter are:-

  • Natural stone
  • Can withstand heavy use
  • Wide variety of patterns and colors

While the drawbacks are:-

  • Seams and pores
  • The color and grain differ

With Granite Counters AVOID degreasers, bleach, glass cleaners and other products containing acids and alkalis. As well as the use of steel wool, sandpaper or scouring pads. Vinegar, ammonia and cleaners with lemon or orange citrus in them will also damage granite countertops.

The third counter that we use in Contistahl is the Engineered tops (Corian):
The advantages of this counter are:-

  • Wide variety of patterns and colors
  • Seamless
  • Can be one part with the sink
  • Resists staining
  • Repairable and re-shapeable

While the drawbacks are:-

  • Not Heat Resistant with direct heat exposure
  • Can get Scratched

With Corian Counters AVOID window cleaners, paint remover and degreasers.
With Corian Sinks it is recommended to run cold water from the faucet while pouring boiling water into the sink.

Cleaning counter tops:

For the three types of counters the best routine cleaning way is to combine water with dish soap and a soft sponge (sponge back). Dip the soft sponge into the water. Wring it out well and wipe down the countertop. Rinse and wring out the sponge frequently while cleaning. Rinse the countertop with a soft cloth and plain water. Dry out with another soft clean cloth and do not leave any excess moisture.
